I have a swimmer who is a very talented runner. He had to make a decision last year about which to concentrate on and unfortunately for swimming he chose running although he does still keep up his swimming to some degree.

I would love to know what type of training I should give him to help his training. He trains mainly for the 200m (which is about 100m more than I could get him to do in the pool) but dabbles in the 100m and 400m.

He trains only a couple of times a week with a training squad (non competitive) which allows me the luxury and space to give him specific sets.

Any advice?? :D

This is not the answer you were looking for, but just out of interest, has this person tried competing in a biathle? Yes, that's the right spelling! It involves a run, a swim and then another run. It sounds like this guy would be very good at it. The only reason I mention this is that a guy at our club is in Sardinia (I hope I spelt that right) as part of the national or England South biathle squad. He is a pretty good swimmer and a good runner. Maybe he might be interested?
