Having been eight days in hospital after a siren wailling 999 for bi-lateral, acute renal failure I arrived home to find 154 posts to read:chainsaw: Stop being so interested in this site!!!:copper: Seriously guys in my fragile state I will have to finish reading them all over the next few days. The last eight days were some of the most frightening ever.

What have been yours?

 Well done Katie on breaking Sarah Hardcastle's 200 Free Southern Counties Record. It gave me something to smile about this morning. The other smile was when told I could go home. Recovery, tests and treatment lay ahead. So yet another delay to my return to the swimming scene.

Sounds terrifying even though I don't understand it. Hope everything is ok now though.
Thanks about the record! I'm very pleased! The Southern Counties was the least atmospheric meet I have ever been to in my whole life!! One of my team mates didn't take note of the changes and turned up at Barnet!

Basically Katie my kidneys stopped functioning due to blockages (stones)in the exit tubes. You hear about it in one kidney but I went the whole way with a pair. Thanks for the concern. On a scale of 1 to 10 on the pain threshold it rates a 9.

Yep, get well soon! For a minute I thought you meant "too much Reading" as in my adopted home town...

My Dad had kidney stones and said it was so painful he wished he was dead. I watched an episode of "Friends" the other day where Phoebe is having triplets and hardly breaking sweat, while Joey is in another ward passing kidney stones and having to be held down. The things we men have to put up with. ;)

They have Friends in the UK? I thought our version of comedy was much too different from yours. Yours being very dry.
