Wouldnt it solve everyone's problems if you just said what town you lived in or indeed the name of the nearest one? Or just the last one you saw? :) :)

My Grandmother on my Dads side was Irish, I do not believe I can go to Ireland as my Dad was evicted following some sort of fire. My Dad's Dad was Jewish and I do not know where Jews live on mass, I would be welcome there I know. Mothers side was from London, with the emphasis on the Dick Van Dyke way of saying London.
Anyhow - wlecome to the greatest Swim Club forum on the internet.

Best pools in NI? Or somewhere further afield? I have always liked Bangor pool.

Ireland--wheres that then ???
You'd need to do an endurance paddle to get there!!
I think it's near America over the sea to the west.

hey there i am new to the site and i was just wondering how many irish folk are here...
As many know here, I’m from Galway, having lived in Seamus Quirke Road, near to the Westside shopping centre for most of my life, until recently.
I always go home on 17th March to celebrate St Patrick’s day. Me mammy makes the best Irish stew I’ve ever tasted. The mention of Ireland is bringing back wonderful memories, and many tears to my eyes.
Please forgive me while I start singing for a few moments, in a darkened room...
"Oh Danny boy, the pipes, the pipes are calling
From glen to glen, and down the mountain side
The summer's gone, and all the flowers are dying
'Tis you, 'tis you must go and I must bide.
But come ye back when summer's in the meadow
Or when the valley's hushed and white with snow
'Tis I'll be here in sunshine or in shadow
Oh Danny boy, oh Danny boy, I love you so."

Welcome Tsuk anyway and Swimmer09
Did you follow the Round Ireland Swim a couple of years ago?

I was thinking of the best pools in NI. Thanks for the Bangor suggestion, I will have to check it out once I get up and running, or swimming I should say.

hey im from NI. i have tried them all, i would reccomand the robinson centre in castlereagh for practile reasons or maybe lisburn for its cleanness. bangor is good for training. then there are some nice pools run by the belfast council depends what area in NI??
Hi everyone and thanks for the welcome. I live in Belfast so I might check out some of the Belfast council places. The grove wellbeing centre looks nice from what I have seen of it.

if you want to train dont go there. as modern as it is its not a very good pool. it is always closed because of overheating and flooding by the way.
i would recomend castlereagh again people are good there.
if you want a council pool maybe you could try Olympia or something like it. theres lots of them so your spoiled for choice!
