I have a BIG allergy to nuts...like i could die if i had a finger tip of peanut butter! i even have a special bracelet that i have to wear and i think called an Epi-Pen that i stab into my leg if i have an allergic reaction! oh yea, i am also allergic to cats, horses, and dogs...but they aren't really major allergies; i just get a plugged-up nose.
is any one else allergic to animals, food, etc.? :rainbow:

mmm... easy to see why you like going swimming then!
I'm allergic to things... dogs, cats, guinea pigs (fury animals), I probably have a bit of a chlorine allergy, but definitely dust.
Had a nasty reaction to the last insect bit I had as well, so I'm a bit worried about ending up in the same situation as you swimchick.
No food allergies I know about though.

I am also allergic to chlorine, and it got so bad that I had to have surgery on my sinuses a few years ago...it was pretty serious...Now I have a stock of either claratin or Tylenol sinus in my bag for afterwards.

That's an interesting post SwimUSA - a lad at home recently had an op on his sinuses. I don't know whether or not it was related to that but I will ask because maybe that was the problem and they didn't know?

Well, it is speculation that it was due to the chlorine, but after taking allergy tests, they did confirm that I am only allergic to chlorine, and seeing that I only get stuffed up while swimming, there is enough fuel on the fire to support that claim. It was also a little more serious than my brief description, but I wouldn't want the weak stomach to hear my exploits of semi-massive crainal surgery.

Daughter recently brought home a letter from school asking among other things that kids going on school trips not take nut snacks to eat on the bus because even the dust could be dangerous for some people in confined spaces. Scary stuff.

I am allergic to most Avon products for some reason. When I was a kid I used some and my face went all puffy and itchy! I haven't touched the stuff since!
I also have a food intolerance to wheat and dairy so have to watch what I eat. Can you imagine not being able to eat pizza?! It is one of my favourite foods!!

I am not really allowed cakes etc cos of the wheat and dairy in them, but if I am extra good I can sometimes treat myself. I just might feel rough for days afterwards....but sometimes cakes are just too hard to resist!
