Hello all,
I have recently moved into the Cheddar area and am looking for an amateur swimming club for my daughter. Could anyone advise me of what's around?

There seems to be a club - Cheddar Marlins - in Cheddar. I don't recall seeing a great deal of entries at Somersets in the last couple of years (but could be doing them a disservice) so for something a bit larger it looks as though the closest are Weston Super Mare and Street.

Is your swimmer already at a competitive level, or really just swimming for fun?
There are clubs in Street and Chard, both of which are coached by the same coach (Zoe Baker, former Commonwealth Breastroke Champion). Depending on your swimmer's ability, they also both feed into Somserset Cheetas, which is a high performance club, also coached by Zoe Baker, comprising the best swimmers from Chard and Street (you have to be a member of either Chard or Street before you can become a member of Cheetas).
There are very good clubs at Bath, several in the Bristol area, some more suited to swimmers of higher standard than others, and Taunton, and also at Millfield School, although I'm not sure whether you have to be a pupil or former pupil to be a member there.

Weston has traditionally had a good club and a nice pool. http://www.weston-super-mare-swimming-club.co.uk/
