Have u used the new sms txt thing it has?
Chris

Yeh, me and Kaci both use it.
It's really good for speaking to a couple of our friends that are now living away from Guernsey.
I guess the SMS facility is in the newest version of Messenger?

I use msn but I don't have MSN plus which a lot of people seem to have. Might need to look into downloading that one! Is it worth it? What is better on MSN plus compared to MSN? And also, this SMS thing, is it free?

Can't get my daughter off of it. She spends the evening with her swim friends at training, texts them all the way home and then straight onto MSN when she comes through the door.
She loves it, I hate it because it causes so many family arguments as there is always just one more conversation she has to have before she goes to bed!

MSN plus is free katie!! if you and me ever happen to be on at the same time i'll send it to you babe ;)

1) teachers post their homework up online [I KID YOU NOT]
2) you can get homework help from the geniuses of your grade from msn!
3) its a way to socialize outside of school because everyone's so busy!
my msn is [i]{PM nsswimmer if you want her MSN e-mail} so add me people! wahoO!

I like MSN as it is a great way to keep in touch with people and have a bit of a chat while you are surfing the net at the same time! I don't get a look in when my brother comes to visit though as he can spend all night on it! :)

Exactly. Now Matt's got your MSN address :p
P.S. Matt, when you're telling someone that it wasn't clever to include their e-mail address in a post, you probably don't want to quote that same e-mail address in your message

nsswimmer
04-06-2003, 08:05 AM
hehe nope msn 6.0 is free; i think you can dl it off their site.
you can have custom BACKGROUNDS to the chat boxes which is crazy awesome and an optional profile picture for your chat box too. the colors are very slick-looking, much like windows XP! it's very aesthetically pleasing ;) haha *bigword*
one downside is that MSN6.0 and MSN PLUS arent compatible.. but its all good! ;D its very fun to play with haha!a

SO far as I know, the version of MSN 6.0 floating around is a BETA version only. It hasn't been 'released' as such, but will be before long no doubt. If you can't get it before then just wait until it is avialable and download it from msn.com.
It's not that great, just has a couple of nice features, and it's not compatible with MSN plus anyway.

They're working on the compatability with MSN Plus at the moment - shouldn't be long.
I'm using version 6.0263 (still a beta) at the moment. Seems to be working fine and looks much nicer than the old Messenger .... especially with a picture of me as the background :p
Anyone that wants MSN 6 (beta) drop me an e-mail.

yep, it's a beta and VERY nice as chris mentioned ;D

Yes, at a grand total of 2.2MB I can see how Messenger would take up way too much space on your PC. After all, at this size its almost as big as 1 average length MP3!

Er, what? MSN Messenger is probably the only Microsoft product that doesn't take up too much space.

For the sake of legality you should probably point out that these are all MP3s that have been made available for download by the copyright owner. I am sure you wouldn't have downloaded anything illegally....

All I can say is 2000 music files take up ALOT of memory, especially .wma files! I think it was about 6 Gb at the last count.

hmm.. mad4it, what connection do you use? most of my friends, as well as i, use DSL and we use kazaa and msn at the same time all the time. i also had no problem with a dial-up connection. maybe if you installed a new connection, it would work better.. im not sure though hehe so dont take my word for it ;D

I DO!! I just found a little button up the top of the screen that lets you change the colour of the window. Exciting stuff...! There are 3 little buttons... I forget what they are, one is an arrow I think, maybe the other one is a block sign, and the third one is a pen. Woohoo!
