Has anyone done a Swimming Teachers Association course, and does anyone know if they are any good?

Yes I have. They are good quality courses and the ASA recognise their qualifications for ISTC membership insurance.

I have not done a course with them but their material generally looks much more promising than the ASA.....I understand they have a few 'irons in the fire' and may be innovative and forward thinking......

Just hang on a bit. It is still being discussed at the ASA EDC. I'll let you know as so as I'm allowed to say.
Please send the photos as I am on line reading this and trying to do my reports ugh! 300 of them.

as an asa tutor i have to recommend them :D, but i would say and dont tell anyone :D that their text books are rather weak in terms of learning, i am producing a book for them that should be coming out within the next 6 months that should cover this, any questions please feel free to ask.

be glad to julia, basically i find children learn easier by visual imagination, such as doing a push and glide ''being tall like a giant'' and sliding over a sheet of ice, things like this work well with children (and adults too) as its easy to remember and is effective.
The majority of school teachers and parents dont have a clue when it comes to teaching, its even painful sometimes to watch a parent teaching a child to dive. A lot of the time the poor child has there hands turned out and not on top!!
