So I'm biased to pools I've used regularly but:

25m favourite - the new <a href="http://www.pullbuoy.fsnet.co.uk/poolfeat.html">Parkside Pool</a> in Cambridge closely followed by <a href="http://www.horizonleisuretrust.co.uk">Waterlooville Swimming Pool</a>

50m favourite - Crystal Palace - the building is in terrible condition, but I always swam PB's there.

I like Portsmouth (Victoria) pool 25m as I always swim well there and Bornmouth (little down) because I got my first National time there http://www.swimclub.co.uk/ubb/biggrin.gif

My favourite pool is Acton Swimming Baths an old Edwardian pool with a conservatory style glass top roof. I go there twice or three times a week midmorning and it is never crowded. There are always two lanes available to swim a bit more seriously . This is the pool for the public. It is 32 y. There is also a teaching pool 25 y .The staff is very friendly and makes you feel welcome.

Favourite pool is Leeds (50m), Crystal Palace, Sheffield,
new pool in Aldershot (50m) is cool!

my worst pool is bracknell/bracknel/braknell how ever its spelt, its cold about -1 and the floor is greasy and the sides have not grip for a backstroke start

OHHHHHH Kicky, I would agree with that one!!!! Training in the mornings at that pool was demoralizing! The reception was as cold as the pool!

I have to disagree about Bracknell, I have always swum well there, although I admit, never on Backstroke!

As for my fav. pool that has to have been St Margaret's Baths, Leicester, I have fond memories of fast swimming there!!

My worst pool has to be Leeds International. In 12 years of swimming I have NEVER achived a PB in the place. I remember my first Yorkshires at 10. Did so badly! Maybe its just one of those places!!!

Spectrum? yes a very fast pool. The Herons? yes another excellent facility. Crystal Palace? you cannot be serious. It should have been demolished years ago. It's slow, cold, lacks atmosphere and is noisy. Not noisy from swimming spectators but from the basketball or whatever else is is going on just a few metres away. As a a national sports centre it's a national disgrace.

humm, yes i aggree that crystal palace is now really old and should be demolished, and that the basketball can reallly put you off on the blocks, but at the moment i am swimming really well there and get pbs whenever i swim there, hence i find it quite fast, however i guess i would get even faster times if the pool was like the one in Manchester. They were going to rebuild the pool but the residents opposed it, so it couldn't get planning permission.
