Good luck to all those competing at the Scottish Xmas Open meet this weekend. From what I hear it could well be quite a fast meet with good depth. Expect some good swims from the Stirling crew, they were in good form at this event last year. Should also expect some good swimming from FAST, Moray Swim Team and at least one of the Edinburgh clubs. Word is that SASA reaped in £22000 from entries alone at this event and have about £17000 left over following rejections. They get the pool quite cheap and may have some sponsorship too. Someone in the know on the organisation of the meet assured me that there is a big profit for SASA. Where will it all go? Pumped back into the grass roots I hope. Or perhaps to subsidise the ridiculously high entry fees at future events?
