fastest times swimming in Olimpic Triathlons

Hello,

I used to do Triathlons before moving to London. Since moving here I've done two London triathlons (olimpic distance where the cycling and running where done by my Dad and Sis).

Has anyone else done this?

Does anyone know what the fastest times for the swim are (1500 meters). I think I did pretty well concidering my wetsuit got ripped so I took on water but would love to see what a fast time is.

In the recent World Championships in Madeira, Portugal the fastest swim times were:

Men - 17:49
Women - 17:54

In the Japanese World Cup race in April this year, the fastest splits were:

Men (Richard Stannard of the GBR) - 16:29
Women (Annelise Heard of GBR) - 17:47

A lot will depend on the course and conditions the event is held in and thus comparisons of swim times between triathlons are a tricky business at best.
