It aint been mentioned on hear yet but Martyn Woodroffe has quit as SASA Director of Swimming. He leaves at end of September. Two key questions: (1) why has he quit? (2) Will he be replaced, if so, by who?
Speculation to (1) is that he claims to be fed up of battling against brick walls all the time and that he does not get on with certain other key figures in Scottish swimming. For (2) he might well not be replaced if SASA need to save money. If he is to be replaced then will the likes of Lynn, Jones, McGregor fancy this position?

Answers on a message please.

Looks like Woodroffe will be replaced but in a job renamed SASA Director of Technical Services.

When is Woofroffe leaving and when will the replacement be in post? - can`t afford dead time with Manchester just around the corner.

He leaves Sep 28th I think and applications for the new job must be in by Oct 1st. It will be November at earliest when someone new comes in but my betting is the new year. Manchester shouldn't be affected as the coaches will still be out there doing a great job.

Yes I agree that the coaches will still be out there doing a great job, as they are currently doing.

My concern is a lack of leadership at such a crucial time, with SASA all set to move to new premises at the new 50m pool in Stirling (opening in December) and Manchester just around the corner.

Surely if the people making the decisions/appointments KNOW when Martin Woodroffe is leaving then they could move a little quicker to appoint a successor.

Surely cheif executive Paul Bush and national coach Chris Martin can hold the ship together at this agrereably crucial time!?
