Sweetenham wants all age group meets in Britain to be age on the first day of competition. He thinks this helps produce a wider range of winners throughout the season and that swimmers will select meets that they can try to win at.
Any thoughts?

I think it is a good idea, because it will give people with later birthdays a better chance to swim with like rather than having always to face the older swimmers in their year who at age group level might have developed further through being older. But what will happen to the National Age Group Championships ? How would they change the system ? Let's say if you are 16 in March 2001 are you then expected to swim in the open championship? Just a few thoughts.

Is this age on the first day idea by Bill Sweetenham actually decided on by ASA and will definitely come in force and if so when?
