I have a vested interest in this subject since through my website www.aquagoggles.com we sell optical goggles both in North America and a surprising amount to the UK.

For $20 US at our website AND others on the internet you can get a pair of "step diopter" lenses that closely match your prescription. (If you are nearsighted)

Before purchasing a pair check out the directions on our site for selecting the correct lens. Not as simple as I would like but sure beats running into walls or other swimmers.

This is a sideline business added to our existing website after I finally found good quality prescription swim goggles for my own use & convinced the manufacturer to supply us in bulk with components for assembly here in Canada.

AirMail deliver to the UK is usually faster than to California & same price of $5 US. Believe it or not it costs me more to ship within Canada than to Europe!

I will be happy to answer any questions & right off the bat I can tell you that the only source of Positive Diopter lenses (farsighted vision correction) is from Hilco Optical. Search using Google for "Hilco Prescription Swim Goggles" good quality here although they do not fit quite as well as ours. I have tried unsucessfully to obtain positive diopter lenses but hope to add them someday to our website.

Yours, Phil Cressman

Does any one know whether they can help me... I need prescription goggles and I like two pairs the sonia ones and the speedo menace. Can anyone help me to figure out which ones are the better pair and if any of you have had any of them can you let me know what they were like as I REALLY NEED THEM for training next season. Thanks.

I have the speedo menace goggles and love them. They never leak, never come off when I dive in for a race, and let me see clearly! My first pair broke at the nosepiece, so I now keep two pairs in my bag at all times, because I was SO annoyed at having to cut my training session short when my first pair broke!

Thanks that has helped me but do you or any one else know anything about the sonia prescription goggles as I also like those. Thanks. Also if people have had or heard about both... any preferences?!?!?!
Thanks as these are important to me...
