Inverness is best?
Please tell us more, I have been to Inverness a couple of times but not been to the pool.
The only Scottish pool I have been to is one at Fort William which had seen better days.

Oh dear!
Is this another person who will post about 200 times within their first 2 weeks and then disappear quicker than they arrived!?
Bobbinz - if you do intend to stay, text speak is banned okay!

I have a very strong suspicion it was aimed at Mr4, though it is a bit puzzling since lane4 has been around for a bit longer than geochuck.
Never mind, they enjoy playing off against each other so who are we to interfere...? :joker:

A lot of us are agreed that ALL geo's posts are puzzling!

You are right he has been around along time and seems to know more than anyone else. I bow to his knowledge but would still like him to be my Abott in my stand up routine.

So Bobbinz and the like are rather Chesney Hawkes. ;)
But at least the thread is getting responses.
Can anyone post a picture of Inverness Pool? Which is apparently so cool!

Yes I can, I wouldn't go as far to say its my favourite pool, its pretty fast though and I've done some of my best races there! :D :)
(Sorry its not a very good picture, it's just the one that used to be on the Inverness ASC website - for those of you who haven't been, its an 8 lane 25m pool, however without swimdown facility altho it has a fun pool.)

Ladner Pool.... if you look you will find the banana tree outside the pool. Bananas are starting to form.

Never mind the banana tree, I think I'd be more concerned with what looks like the small killer whale in the pool in the top right photograph!!!

Despite the killer whale, it does actually look like a really nice pool. Is it 25m?

On a banana tree? Bananas not being native to Canada and the tree is out side, I was amazed at the showing of bananas. As far as the Killer whales we often go out to the ferry docks and see killer whales, never in the pool. What you see there is a young boy walking on top of the water, but he fell and was trying to get up. Hard to believe but at the Ladner pool the kids walk and run on the top of the water. It is 25m always 2 lanes open for lengths, a wonderful hot tub, sauna bath, gym, a large water slide which is not shown, a large hockey rink (not shown). As I said before $25.00 a month and I can go from 6:30 am til 10:00 pm. every day of the week, hockey rink not included.

I used to live in Ladner and swum at the pool there regularly. It is a great facility, really good kids pool. I would put my 2 kids in the drop in daycare at the centre and swim for hour or two. The poolside hot tub must be 50 feet square and has 'Industrial strength' water jets.
The pool temp was kept too warm for a real workout, however, there is a 50m pool 4 miles away for training.
Local Authorities here could learn a lot from how the pool was designed and run. :)

Any of you people swimming at sprint championships which are held at Inverness in September?
Improving a lot

Inverness is a great pool. I do a lot of pb's there, and it is where I broke the minute, coming 2nd in the event from lane 1! :shocking: Yes Scotty, I am going 2 sprints in September.
I've only swam once at Inverness but I swam well and liked the pool, and the fun pool! I've only swam once at Ponds Forge which is a great pool too. Swam numerous times at Tollcross (lc and sc). They're my three favourite pools that I've competed in. Swam in a lc outdoor pool in Sion, Switz. which was fantastic but I wasn't competing there. :)

I believe Scostoun Leisure Centre has an excellent pool with Tollcross a close second!
Excellent instructors and team. :)
