Can I get a clarification about whether or not I am allowed to take the p1ss out of this?
Without viewing the finished product why would you want to?

I have to say that I'm quite impressed with the quality of the video clips shown on the site ..... could be a useful tool.
Hate to think the cost of bringing it over to Guernsey though.

It seems to me you can see the faults in the guy swimming the crawl on your home page.
Could you enlighten us on the faults. Maybe we can discuss them. Having said that the clarity must be good if faults are picked up; shows the validity of having youself videoed. Have not viewed videos on site personally as the site crashes my computer. (Computer is six years old and not user friendly). I did view the footage about six months ago when the project was in it's infancy.

Not faults in the video, faults in the swimming stroke. Not to pick the guys stroke apart but I like the hand to be closer to the body after it hits the catch but everyone is entitled to their own opinion. What I see on the video which is only a few seconds long, the swimmer is reaching for the bottom of the pool. The clarity is better than I have ever seen before.

I actually attended a clinic here a few weeks ago. I was videotaped while i swum , almost 2 hours.
I was taped underwater from: side, 3/4 view, in front, and from behind; for 200 IM and then for all 4 strokes and the 4 regular turns plus the IM turns.
Then above water taping of all 4 swims, turns and dives.
Hard to see how more comprehensive that could be. Ian was great and was willing to tailor the session to the needs of the swimmer.
The footage was burned onto a DVD, with clips at normal speed and slow motion. Ther is also some split screen footage. The DVD works great on the TV and on the computer.
Some, may have noticed from my previous posts that i am very focused on technique. I demonstrate drills and good technique in the water for the swimmers that i coach. I was very interested to find out how accurate my strokes really were !
What i found was that in the main, the strokes were OK. However, I did find out why i am not very fast in the water. I had slippage in the underwater pull of the freestyle and especially in fly. This is due to my fingers bending back as water pressure on them increases. In my fly pull my hands were coming together too far forward after the first phase and the push phase was too short.
I have changed my technique to hold my hand more rigidly during the pull and stroke length has increased, time is starting to come down for my swims.
I am very happy with the result of the clinic and I am sending some of my swimmers down to it.
Only thing i don't like is the vibrating titles on the website, not needed, get rid of them Ian !!
