Depends on whether you mean actually living there, or just from there. You could always send silly messages to Leprechaun and he'd probably answer in full Ulster brogue.

You are not alone.......although as Getting Faster points out you didn't specify Nor'n Iron as a place of origin or place of residence. I return there a couple of times a year, usually trying to include the Ulster Masters in November, but am trying to haul some of the Guildfordians off to Aer Lingus Masters in October this year and Cork next year.

Btw Getting Faster will observe (via www.swim-ulster.com) that the Ulster Masters records now list the 200IM from Palma thus indicating that they do take notice of our exploits in far flung places (well mercifully not all of them).

I used to be in Ards ASC if you know the Ulster Clubs but that was decades ago.

hi there...another NI guy here.

Hi - if you can cope with the weather its a lovely place for sure.
Have you just arrived there or have you been there some time?
Are you a member of any of the Clubs there?
www.swim-ulster.com is the "official admin" for the province, if that helps.
If you are of Masters age then the Ulster Masters in November is probably the biggest meet over there for a while. I am trying to get schedules sorted to be there.

It is usually in the Grove Pool in Belfast. Date is not yet on the calendar but there is an email contact on www.swim-ulster.com that you can send a question to. Last Year was 20th Nov - usually 2nd or 3rd Sat in November. Will let you know when I get an answer as I think I will be there.

I spent most of my youth in Nornirelan, so I did. I would say that I grew up there, but that might be stretching the truth. I swam for Coleraine and CAI at a time when Mark Spitz was the man....and you weren't allowed to turn on to your front for the backstroke turn, but could swim as far as you liked under water....

and Pickie Pool was a championship venue? at least nothing that faces us in open water in the next 2 weeks can compare to that....or can it? yuk!

And so - this year's Norn-iron Masters will be on Sat 19th Nov in the Grove Baths (Pool in modern speak) in Belfast. 50/100 all strokes plus 100IM plus 400free. Entry form will be on www.swim-ulster.com but not for a while yet. Closing date about a month before. There are efforts to have a bit of a do afterwards - disco and nosh- more news when it gets on the website. So no immediate action required all round other than get flights sorted - in on Fri out Sun late pm to allow chance for a suitably large Ulster Fry the next day. There are plenty of flights from UK mainland and Channel Islands into Belfast.

It's lovely. I was there a few weeks ago, previously about 10 years ago. The transformation is startling, and very positive. And the folk from Norn-Irn really know how to have fun!
