Does anyone know if she is fronting the BBC coverage for the Olympics? She hasn't been on the last couple of times, yet on Ceefax I see she believes Darren Mew holds the fastest time in the world this year for the 100m breaststroke (guess she missed the US Trials then), and boldly tips Sarah Price as one of our female swimmers to watch out for!

Unfortunately she is listed as one of the BBC's "team of experts, commentators and reporters". They couldn't find anyone good to do it then :( Maybe there'll be an interactive option to turn her off.
I think that's the general idea Chris- just a pretty face to look at...
she'll be the one in front of the cameras wearing her usual super sun tan and of course her smile
The main commentary will hopefully be from the men- at least they get it right!! :p

I can't say Adrian Moorhouse or Andy Jameson are the most convincing commentators around, just in relative terms they do a decent job I suppose. Oh for a John Motson of swimming!

To be fair to our Sharon, if that's the same article that's on the BBC website (http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/olympics_2004/swimming/3858215.stm) it was written on 2 july, 5 days before the US trials.
It's this bit that amuses me:
...and then there's Ian Edmond in the 200m breaststroke.
"He's my big tip. He didn't have a particularly successful Europeans recently, although he did pick up a medal, but maybe that's good.
Presumably since he didn't go to the LC champs, she means the SC in Dublin, where Iwoudl haev thought gold and a European record would normally have been classed as quite successful!

It does appear to be the same article, in which case maybe they should have found another one to put up after a month has passed!!
Also as you point out Steve, the original article still had mistakes.
Once again, the paper this morning (don't ask!) managed to squeeze in a bit of swimming coverage, naming Gibson, Mew, Marshall and Sexton as the main chances, but also mentioning Hickman, Price and Pickering expected to go well - Pickering doesn't even have an individual!!

Brad Pitt, no thanks, Denzel Washingston and George are ok.......still, I suppose it started the ball rolling!
Perhaps I'm a little picky!

Have to agree with you there, Ruth. I have to add Harrison Ford and Pierce Brosnan. Still thinking. I like older men...(Strewth, if they've got to be older men from my point of view, they'll all be drawing their pensions by now...like Mr Connery!)
