How come the Scotland forum is so popular? Are there loads of Scots coaches and swimmers online trying to improve themselves.....or are they just surfing instead of swimming?

Its cause of the Tara campaign (all those years ago!)

Its not cos of the Tara campaign at all (although that did help a little). This forum was very popular before the Tara thing started up. The real reason is that there are more passionate dedicated and hungery coaches and swimmers per head of population in Scotland than England, Wales and Ireland. This is also the reason why Scottish Swimming is really on the up just now including the fact their mens team could probably beat the English mens team at present.

It was too good an opportunity to miss - you can find out what might happen in a men's england v scotland dual meet here...or follow the link from the pullbuoy homepage

Thanks very much Steve for putting that together.
Of course I expected ENG to get more dual meet event wins than SCO based on highest ranked times this year but the interesting points to consider are as follows:
* SCO 2 mens individual world long course medals, ENG only 1.
* 2002 Commonwealth Games serious mens medal chances - I reckon both ENG and SCO have about 8 in individual events based on the names in your list and my own opinions.
* Would Mark Foster turn up for a dual meet!?
* Would any of the breaststrokers (Gibson and Edmond in particular) be able to complete their events within the rules of the sport!?
* Would this dual meet represent the only chance for further victories in international competition for James Hickman!?

Good fun indeed. Wish we could do the meet for real.
