Yes, she's "one of us", so we get to see her most days.

(Get well soon, Julie)

scares the life out of us old gits when she is training in the next lane.

Nice to have someone like that to put the club on the map so its a blow to all of us in a way too. Hopefully there will be a next time for her, and soon too.

We just love it when her Dad steps in, with an ad-hoc programme for the Masters, when our coach isnt able to be at the pool, don't we G/F??

I think you'll find that GF was tucked up safely in bed that morning (I know that is most unlike her). But I remember the day well. It involved far too many of the strokes that I can't do but we were all far too exhausted to back chat.

I don't even think he was trying to make it tough, in fact he probably thought he was setting an easy set, just didn't realise just how mediocre to downright awfull we are!

Get well soon Julie. :doctor:

Seconded! Incidentally, anyone else who was at Swansea gone down sick since? Daughter off school - listless, no appetite, vom - and only starting to revive Tuesday evening.

The message I'm getting from all this would seem to be, don't go to Swansea, whatever you do, whoever you are, ever!;) :p

Eurosport UK will be screening live the sessions on each of the 4 days. Times are between 16.30 and 18.30 approx.

The good news is I have the channel; the bad news is the VCR died last weekend and I havent yet replaced it. Hostilities are about to break out in my house..............

The BBC are also showing highlights of the first 3 days plus live swimming on the Sunday afternoon.

Good to see Julie's made a speedy recovery and managed to swim so well in a very full programme yesterday. Unfortunately poor old Owen Morgan will not be back in the pool so quickly, after a car crash. He broke his eye-socket bone (not sure of the proper name for it!) OUUUUUCH! He was so looking forward to the European Champs as well. :)

Sorry if this going to sound defensive Tara , I really don't mean it to !!

She was very poorly at Swansea last weekend and at the beginning of the week and I understand was advised by British Swimming to pull out of the Europeans.

It was touch and go if she would actually swim Speedo, and again I understand she had permission to do so..

Neither her parents nor her coach would do anything to jeopardise her GB chances now or for the future.

We didn't know until yesterday morning if she would swim or not. Luckily for us she did indeed swim Speedo very well, as only Julie can, she fought all the well on several events, and suffered after every event because of it.

Happily she was at training this morning, so although not fully recovered,
she's on the mend. :) :) :)

It was good to have her there, even though she had not been able to train much the preceding week.
There were a lot of others who were less than well, but I suppose they are not well known so no one mentions them.
It does sound like this was common throughout Saturday night's galas though, reading the posts here! :)

You didnt sound defensive (ok maybe a little!!! :p ) Thanks for answering, I was just confused cos I figured from the posts on here she was really, really ill! Good for her for swimming for her team, it must have been hard after having to withdraw from such a great opportunity as the European Short Course  Lets hope she gets another opportunity next year!
