started on saturday with the 800m and 1500m there were some very impressive swims even without Lizzie simmonds. Jordan Tomlinson won the 800m in 8.45 lapping nearly everyone in the final heat Sophie Allen was second in 9.06.
The boys 1500m was even better won overall by 13 year old new vulcan Declan Potts in 16.23 but the highlight of the night was a new WORLD record by Rob Welborn in the S10 catorgy in 17.04

Wow, some high standards set there! Jordan really is in her element in the 800m isnt she!

swam yesterday in the counties did a 2 second pb on my 50 back and came 4th lizzie won in it 28.88 :aarrgghh: only 3/100ths outside the british junior record! free wasnt too bad half a second out my pb came 4th in the final behind lizzie, jordan and Jenny. 200br was really good i pulled out but in the final heat Kate Haywood swam with Sophie Allen (who is only 12) Soph came back in the last 50 nearly beating kate but not quite Kate 2.33 and soph 2.34. In the afternoon i did 100 Fly got my national in the heats :) with a Pb then swam it again 20 mins later in the final and did another PB and came 2nd overall winning the junior title. 200 IM last event of the day didnt swim too well same heat as lizzie again!! she swam excellently breaking the British Junior record (unconfirmed)

i did 1.05.90 in my heat and 1.05.48 in the final

Super times and well deserved!
swam the second lot of counties yesterday came 2nd in my 50free to Jordan Tomlinson beat Lizzie :) although she was doing back :rolleyes: I did a Pb in my 100Back got to the final but didnt swim it. In the afternoon i did 50Br not my best stroke did a second pb on it though and 200Fly just off my pb. I was also supposed to do 200 Free but they shut the pool 2 heats into it because someone was sick in the pool so now that has got to be swum next week along with the 100 back final for Lads. So at the end of the day it was pandemonium as they collected in the cards they had given out for the 200 then people were like well im not here next week (e.g lizzie Jordan sophie jenny) because of BLC so then they handed cards back to the people they could find and said post them next week!

What a nightmare having to move the rest of the 200 free. What is the rest of next weekend going to be like for you? Sounds like this will make it really tough.
You have to feel sorry for the kid that was sick, I know I've felt very dubious in races in the past, and I've seen kids sprint to the toilets, hands over mouth, after they've got out, but I've never seen anyone who has actually been sick. Poor thing. Poor organisers too, but sounds like the best decision given the circumstances.

next weekend i have got 50fly 100br 100IM 200Back 400Free and now 200Free as well so it will be a long and tiring day followed by early training sunday morning lol. County organisers had nothing to do with decision it was the pool that said that the gala couldnt continue

Good luck next weekend, you've certainly got a very tough weekend.
it all kicked off yesterday at the final county champs. first of all they had two warm ups one for the girls in the 200 free and the boys 100back final then they swa those races then we had to go and warm up again in a second warm up for everyone else. so at 12.00 we actually started that days events i did 50 fly came 2nd by 7/100ths in 29.72 we were both below mel marshalls old record :) which was 29.83 then there was a boys event then the girls 100im well we got about 3 heats into that and one of the swimmers pushed off the wall in an Awkward position and ended up in the lane next to her but hurt her back in the process she was in the outside lane so was dragged to the egde by her caoch - lifeguards nowhere to be seen - when they did get there they then had to remove the outside lane rope and bring the floor up to put her on the spinal board and had to wait for the ambulance to arrive they then put her on the trolley thing and put her in the ambulance then the ambulance got stuck on the grass ( :rolleyes: everything going well)so eventually it was pushed off and they put the lane rope back in and the floor down and the gala could restart with event 3 (this was good for mallett and storr who came speeding back from BLC to compete in the remainfs of the morning session. i swam the 100 IM and got to the final and came 4th in senior and 3rd in junior. after that there was the boys 400free to sit through i pulled out of the 200 back. The second session started nearly an hour and a half late but i did 100 br pb and got to the final (me doing br hahahahaha) then in the final i got a junior bronze medal lol last event was the 400 free did a pb in that also so at the end of counties i had a pretty successful championships

My goodness that was eventful! I hope the girl who hurt her back is ok now, do let us know if you can reassure us on that one.
And as loz says, well done - your breaststroke can't be that bad if you can get into finals and then medal in it!
yeh apparently the girl is fine muscle spasms or something.
