Thanks for bringing this one up, I was all ready to drive to Aldershot to do the announcing! (I'm sure I was borne blonde...)
Loved the day.
Lunch was the best. Pizza! Why don't all meets treat Coaches and Officials well?
Swims were great despite the fact I only had one swimmer in the morning. Ian from Shiverers was in great voice even though my swimmers nicknamed him Mr Scarey by the afternoon. Great to see Tara do a PB
Had a really good time at the meet, helped by getting a pb in my 200m free :D <- smile that big after!!! It must be the timekeeper I had ;-) Going that fast unrested is encouraging :-)
Rest of swims good, although my first 50m of my 100 free (13.7,15.1,14.8,14.4 to a 58.28 swim!) was stupidly slow and I could have kicked myself after- I slowed down so much I probably expended more energy doing that than if I'd stayed going fast!!!
Meet ran really well despite so many in each event (I think it just seemed like a lot because I used to do Guildford when the age groups were all split up!) The only thing I would change (constructive criticism) is having a lane or two in the warm up for the youngest age groups!! It made it hard work for the seniors, mostly because we were worried about hurting them!!!
Its a good opportunity at this meet with everything heat declared winner to practice getting the best out of yourself in a one off swim, and although I actually prefer having finals, because I usually go faster in them, I like having to practice fast heat swims.
Good to meet some more faces from here, some great announcing from GF (despite her calling me a wrinklie) :p
Aaaaaaaah now I need to organise next weekend!!! :shocking:

I notice you chickened out of the 100 back, Tara, should change the stress on your name to taRA (a la Cilla Black) seeing as you skipped off early without saying goodbye
I know our lot had lots of PBs, I saw quite a few smiling faces from other clubs with good pbs and lots of improvements over entry times. Is that because this is generally a good time in the season for people to chop stuff off their times after getting the most out of recent training schedules or just something that happens at most competitions?
Thanks to ruthcp for doing the music, some great stuff. Most popular were the usual culprits of La Macarena, Ketchup song and Cha Cha Slide but that's only because the girls enjoy having a wiggle and a giggle, and I'm sure the spectators enjoy seeing them having a good time. See you all in December, perhaps? By then I'll be back to being a parent of a swimmer who gets wet, small fish will be big enough to enter rather than just do drinks.

But I got rejected from the 100m back ;) (the famous Sports system error!)Nah, Cause of having had a lot on outside swimming this week, plus it being my brothers birthday-family bbq, and having had a good weekend up to then, I decided to give it a miss, especially with next week to look forward to :)
Sorry for not saying goodbye, I even looked in the bar and everything but you weren't there!!
As for the music, it wasn't just Ruthcp providing it for us, as for providing some dancing as well!

I aim to please :p :p ;)
I know Guildford has major problems with their web site.
(About time it was fixed doncha think- 6 months is way too long - sorry ;) )
Any one know where/when the results will be available?

You may be able to e-mail the meet promoter, Andy Williams, he'd be able to send them around, possibly. I think he e-mail address was on the entry info.
