Surfing the web I've come across the Total Immersion Web site. It's really interesting and I like the basic concepts. Does anybody know about it and/or use it in their clubs?

Don't believe everything they tell you on the TI website, and don't trust everything you read in the TI book. I agree, a lot of what they say makes sense: balance is essential for any swimmer; streamlining is also important; and most of the drills can be used to great effect. However, much of what they claim is questionable to say the least.

To find out more, why not join in the discussions on the Usenet newsgroup rec.sport.swimming. You can find the articles here. There is usually a slagging match of somekind going on concerning TI ;-)

Reading the book at the moment. Some of it is interesting and worth reading, as long as you only swim Freestyle. Some of the ideas are great but not gospel. Intergate some of the ideas but don't believe it will radically change everything.

Looking forward to hearing from fellow coaches and keen swimmers needing help.
