Compatibility of different software systems

Our club uses Solent Software and has done since our records began. Does anybody know if it is possible to import data from Hy-Tek systems into Solent Softwares systems?

Similarly I would like to be able to import the Graded tables from SportSystems but again don't know if I can.

Anybody got any clues?

I don't really want to undertake a massive data migration from the current system to a new one - our database is over 9Mb.

I'm pretty sure that the Beau Sejour Barracudas used Solent Software before Hy-Tek Team Manager ... I shall speak to our people in the office and confirm how they transferred the date across.

I'm pretty sure it was done manually (by Debbie O) and included all the swim school data as well as the Barracudas but I expect the office will confirm that.

Whilst I don't know much about these particular databases, if you can't transfer the data directly would it not be possible to export from the old one to something like Excel, do any tidying up required ref field names etc, then import into the new one? (I'm sure some technical types will be along soon to put me back in my box!!)

I think you people might be right. I know for a fact that Debbie is the person who takes all the info from my lesson register and places it on the computer, I think Mrs.Allen might have done a bit of data transferring aswell as I've seen her in the office on some form of swimming software. (Don't know which one but it loads with a picture of swimmers diving in).

The software with a swimmer diving in is Hy-Tek's Team Manager I think - that's the new software.
