FREE SPORTS MASSAGE!!
Please help a sports massage student in need of volunteers in South Wales Area!!
I'm currently doing a SMA registered course in Sports Massage Therapy and, as part of my course, I need to complete 100hrs of sports massage in my own time.
Each session will last roughly 30mins and all I will need to do is assess your needs/requirements/problems and carry out the massage techniques.
So, if you have any sporting injuries, aches or pains or fancy just a general massage and live in the Cardiff/South Wales area - please get in contact!!
Thank You!! :king:

Thank you Chris that would be great! Needs to get my hands on as many (foolish) people as possible!!
I was thinking of offering this service at the National Masters but i dont think the qualified massuers would be to impressed!

You don't have to publicise it too much, and I reckon I could probably round up one or two. We would, of course, only be doing it to help you out, not to get any benefit from it ourselves - oh the altruism hurts so much!
(But you also don't want to use up so much of your time that you're not able to really go for it with the swimming.)
Vicki
Perhaps offer your service to a particular club or clubs beforehand and then you become an official member of the team(s). I am sure you will be bought many drinks in the evenings and make some good contacts for the future as well as a free T-shirt. The official massuers cannot say a thing if you are attached.

hi i am just
wondering as you do sport massage ect you may know about a querry i have. At the moment i have a very sore pain in the bottom of my back whenever i bend over (sorest when bend forward.) I have a gala soon so am wondering about a quick fix method? i dont actually know yet if it is sore when i swim as i just got it this morning and will be in the pool later. I will post after in the pool to give more info. IS there a few things it could be and could i do anything to relieve the pain or best stop it quickly? thanks

Not as yet, though I dont think i'll be doing it at the masters in sheffield. Just got my plinth and its a bit on the heavy side - dont want to do myself an injury, not after the price of those entry fees!!!!

It’s difficult to say without knowing more details, and I’m no expert yet!! But lower back pain/tightness can be from a variety of different reasons, from your hips, to your knees, to your ankles. Have you had any previous problems, even just a bit of soreness or tightness? This could cause you to over compensate causing your hips to become unbalanced – leading to muscle soreness in the lower back. Have you done anything different lately – in swimming or in daily life? The simplest things like hovering can cause you to harm muscles if you over stretch.

I often find that hovering causes me injuries, especially when I come back to earth... ;) :joker: Ahem.
