TILES IN THE FERRY POOL
The water within the pool knows
No fences, bars or wires for your hair
She lets you breathe a steady trickle
With no sweat of effort
If you lie really close within her
Watch her fresh clarity
Follow the stars of her sunlit face
Find the support of her embrace
If you face the tiles a fathom deep so
That you identify
You'll feel the sensuality
You'll feel her with you on your side
(Written this morning, from a moment last Tuesday, riding a glide at the deep end of the Marston Ferry Pool in Oxford)
