Not surprising. . .another pre-designed for an individual. Was this not a given from before Kim arrived.

Not disagreeing but would be very interested to hear why you say that?

Not taking anything away from Ali, but all you have to do is look at the advertised job spec, and make a match.

"all you have to do is look at the advertised job spec, and make a match."

Pretty sure this must be lifted straight from the idiots guide to HR. Ally has obviously proved himself under difficult cirumstances both taking a lead in Kims departure whilst holding down a succesful tenure in the East of Scotland.

Having spent the last year+ facilitating the progress of many of the Easts fine talents (even having to deal with the mighty egos of Lane4 and the 'stard  ) I am sure he is more than capable of managing the rest of us scots coaches. Maybe even directing them.

And presumably another vacancy.Which it looks like Scottish Swimming is keen to fill quickly, along with the West District coach/co-ordinator/manager whose recruitment was deferred when Kim left.

A new guy at the top = a new potential conquest?

Sorry, just to check, is this the guy who used to coach at St Bedes or is it a completely different person?

Only because some of my friends swam at St Bedes with him, and so I saw him around at Southerns and Nationals a bit. Someone said he'd moved to Scotland, so was just wondering :)

Anyone got any comments or knowledge of the successful applicants? And how is the new DofP doing anyway?

(Afterthought..wonder if this announcement was timed to coinicide with Mr Glasgow's birthday..?)

I am familiar with both names, one in particular was a former apprentice of mine a few years ago. I just hope he hasn't been seduced by the dark side of the force now though.

Sadly I suspect that one of the prize winners will no longer be as candid with their messages on this site from now on.

I will endeavour to ascertain how the new DoP is doing when next I meet him. Your thoughts on his progress Mr Stard?

That sounds interesting. Who is the dark side in the political world of Scottish Swimming. Do the results of the Comm Games reflect the work of the dark lord?

Who got these jobs? Coaches with experience?
