Some good swims in Brisbane as the Aussies gear up for their trials next month; Liesel Jones went a 1:06.9 100 Br with Jade Edmistone second in 1:07.62. Libby Lenton 54.19 100 free, with Alice Mills second in 54.69. Mills also swam a 58.6 100 fly and Linda MacKenzie a 4:09.89 400 free. All unrested, unshaved, with no racing edge etc etc

Full results here: http://www.qld.swimming.org.au/

NSW State champs start today with Thorpe due to swim a 100 and 200 I believe.

Some strong swimming at this meet and I also see that Lorna Tonks put a few good swims in again. A couple of the offshore boys were in attendance too but they did not figure in many of the finals.

Hi occasional visitor only in the last few weeks...
I couldn't find any 200IM results which is what I would always consider to be Lorna's strongest event (but am at work so couldn't spend too much time looking!). Seems to be a LC meet.

As Lane 4 says Lorna had some strong swims - 200FS 2.02.60, 400FS 4.16.11 100BRS 1.10.82, 400IM 4.52.85.

She does seem to be the forgotten girl of British swimming - assuming she hasn't/isn't changing nationalities!

Anyone know anymore about her plans, or if she gets any help etc from British swimming?

They've not had the 200IM yet - it's tomorrow.

Lorna's time for the 400 free was 4.15.90.Talking to a friend of her parents British Swimming don't give her any help, they won't even except her PBs for the rankings

I thought she was hoping to swim for Australia? And what other sort of help could they give her?

Some people might argue that she got a LOT of help (squads, trips, camps, funding etc) when she was over here and the fact that she upped and left for a new life (and new nationality?) in Australia is reason enough for any further help to cease.

Well... I'd say that seems fair enough to me!
