I see the date has been set for the World Short Course in 2008 to be held at a temporary pool in Manchester.

Any chance of joined up thinking at British Swimming?

We probably won't send any swimmers to this meet as it will ruin our preparations for Beijing.

Hey, Manchester wouldn't need to bother erecting a pool and 10,000 seats if everyone took the "it'll ruin our preparations" approach, being as what the Olympics is a world wide event and all. It's 2 1/2 years away, who knows what will happen before then.
