Ok, so I'm trying to weigh up the pro's and con's of the two types of technique so that I can make a justified decision on which I prefer.
So we've got the sculling action; keeping arms in front of you as much as possible, focused on the sculling action and squeezing in elbows and forearms to create the pressure.
Then there's the traditional 'scrape the bowl', bringing hands back to body, elbows high, focused more on pushing water backwards.
Which do people use/prefer and why? At the moment i've been coaching the sculling action, half because that's what I've been taught, and also because I believe it helps the wave action and can generally be a faster action.
Interested in anybodys elses opinions and theories! Thanks
