Maybe I am being a bit sensitive here but has anyone else noticed that the ASA website (BRITISHswimming.org) has headlines about ENGLISH swimmers and the other home nations are relegated to the bottom of the story (e.g. "oh and by the way Caitlin McClatchey won a gold"). Suddenly Welsh, Scottish, irish and Island swimmers are not longer British........:banghead: (Ranting Scot here)

Yes! In fact I even emailed them.. this is the reply I got:

Thanks for your email to the ASA website. www.britishswimming.org is the website for the ASA (England) and British Swimming and because during the Commonwealth Games each home nation competes separately, the ASA, WASA and SASA are responsible for their own media reports.

The ASA media manager is currently in Melbourne with the team, hence the number of Commonwealth reports we have been able to provide on the England team. As yet, we haven't had any information from the Welsh and Scottish teams, which is why there is no information on our site.

We hope to include some information on Wales and Scotland results-wise once the competition kicks off, although Team England results will be our priority.

I hope that explains the situation for you,

If it's news on the fabulous Scottish successes that you're after you should obviously go to the wonderfully up to date and user friendly http://www.scottishswimming.com/....

That's rubbish (not as in wrong, just as in stupid). If they call themselves British swimming they should cover all aspects of British Swimming.

*hmph*

Also, Mr Stard, that website is so helpful that when I click on the link it says Service Unavailable :D

I think lots of people must be trying to read about Scotland's success :)

Got into Scottish website just before it went unavailable.
There is NOTHING about the games never mind the results.

You would have thought someone would be there to update site
...........maybe they are all off to Australia and the server has crashed.

VERY POOR SHOW

Finally, the folks at Scottish Swimming have woken up and realised there are 19 of their swimmers competing in the Commonwealth Games just now. However, its just one article on tonight's successes so far. No profiles, no build up, no quotes.

I think the quality of reporting on the Scottish Swimming website has improved tremendously. :flash:

Improved maybe, but still extremely dull and uninspiring!!! Thank goodness our young swimmers have some new commonwealth champions to aspire to!!

Then he could report how well Caitlin and David have done being based in ENGLAND with ENGLISH coaches:rocket:
Come to think about it, I don't recall much about Cooky training in Scotland.
Shot in foot.

"The other home nations were also on form on the opening night on the Commonwealth Games as Scotland’s David Carry collected gold in the 200m Freestyle in a new Scottish Record of 3:48.17, ahead of Wales’ David Davies who set a new Welsh standard to win bronze in 3:49.44. "

Pretty poor standard................(of journalism)
