Over 90 people filled The Gallery in Cowcross St. London yesterday to hear leisure operators, campaigners, authors and architects present their views and experiences of saving pools, running pools, comparing pools with those in other countries etc etc
Representatives from many councils came, including Wychavon District Council (Droitwich lido) Plymouth City Council (Tinside), Cambridge City Council (Jesus Green Pool) and City of London (Hampstead Heath)
Please log on to the Yahoo Lidos website for a more comprehensive list of those who attended. (Lidos History Society - don't be put off by the name: this site is history in the making and is bang up to date with all the latest developments, debates in Parliament, press coverage etc)

I also had the chance to meet journalists Tom de Castella and Harry Eyres who are both sympathetic to the movement to save Britain's remaining open air swimming pools and lidos
A tremendous amount was packed into this day and the organisers: Malavan Media (Producers of the Played in Britain series) and PTEa (architects) had obviously put their heart and soul into making this event a success.
