The TODAY programme on Radio 4 will have a live interview tomorrow between the acting chief executive of Sport England and the author Janet Smith (who published a book called "Liquid Assets: the lidos and open air swimming pools of Britain" in the summer of 2005) This will be at 07.40am hopefully.

Sport England were invited to the Reviving Lidos Conference on 16th March 2006, but declined to attend; a 32 page report was compiled and will be handed in tomorrow to the Dept of Culture, Media and Sport; Radio 4 will be giving both sides a chance to put their point of view tomorrow.

A pre-recorded interview with Janet will be going out on Radio 5 Live Breakfast show, but not sure what time.

The Guardian newspaper should also be covering this event tomorrow and possibly the Telegraph too.
The interview will be nearer 08.30am; the BBC have also made this a News item: Lidos reach Whitehall.

The interview came on at just before 09.00am
Please e-mail the Radio 4 Today team if you have comments to add about the future of open-air swimming in this country.

Anglia TV also covered this event
