Who are the best team?
Well if we're looking @ having people on TEAM 2012 then it's Limerick (3)
Coolmine(2)
The rest of the team is made up of 8 people and 8 different clubs........
If it's Dublin, then Glenalbyn.
Would you be making bad jam on me?

for Masters swim clubs? - certainly Limerick Masters would be up there (my club). Other good masters clubs in the Republic - Cork Masters, Aer Lingus SC, Nac Masters, Dublin SC, Dolphin Masters, Phoenix SC, Kingdom Masters, Eastern Bay SC and Half Moon. Are smaller ones like Thurles, Ennis etc. Cant speak about non masters clubs tho.

ok so Leander may have 1 quality swimmer on the Irish team from a very average club. I'm sorry if this a little harsh but I'll say it about my own club aswell. 2 swimmers on Team 2012 out of a club who has about 6 swimmers at nationals standard of which 3 would be strong competers. Otherwise Coolmine & Leander are very ordinary clubs.
As far as a club with good strenght @ senior level goes Trojan SC.............Men stand out
Cormorant SC........Women
Larne SC..............Junior Boys
Limerick SC...........Junior Girls
New Ross also have some very good young swimmers
Watch out for NUI Maynooth(NUIM Devils)this season aswell.
1st Irish University Swimming Programme, should be contenders for Men & Women titles come Nationals in May.

Sycerika McMahon is who I'm talking about. She's one for the future.
We can talk about both club grown & people on teams.

This is the first step to stopping people having to go abroad to reach the next level. Hopefully more Universities will join in & then Irish Swimming can really move forward.

shes a good kid! i know her well.
yes i hope that ireland might just get the coaches in the right places and move forward and leave all the crap of the past behind but while it still hangs overhead it inhibits the ability of the country to move forward as a force

Well there's 2 new coaches starting in the new year.
1 in the existing High Performance Centre(HPC) Limerick, replacing Steve Price
&
1 in the soon to be opened HPC in the NAC Dublin
Keith Bewley will probably be in Dublin to help with the beginning of the NAC HPC also.
Things are on the up.
With regards the Larne boys....By far the best Junior Club Relay Team the island has ever seen!!Nobody will go near those records!!

You & us all!!
It's no secret that things aren't easy but when we look at where Irish Swimming was 10 years ago things are improving.
yes things aren't going smoothly but at least they're moving.
we're after bringing this thread slightly off topic now though, the topic of SI admin is a whole new endless topic altogether!!
