The Swim Round Ireland project is a fantastic idea and very well organised; just look at the list of sponsors! It's a very serious job!

dear cg - i was sure you would have heard about this; with all the "health and safety" around and the govt's pathetic targets of children swimming 25 metres, it's wonderful to read about a real project like the RIS.

The Round Ireland Swim has now officially started: Sunday 2nd July from Carrickfinn Blue Flag Beach. The swim is scheduled to finish by the end of the month, but August has been factored in, in case of stormy weather:

They are doing a great job raising awareness and getting media attention. They were all over the papers and on the radio the other day here in Ireland.

Round Ireland Swim is due to finish this Friday 25th August 2006 at 7pm; I have really enjoyed reading their blog and getting e-mails from Diveology.

Update: (Mon 28th Aug) Just got back and caught up with some of the news; swim now complete; anyone can add comments to the blog to congratulate team etc
