World short course team

Couldn't find anyone else having reported this :
On British swimming website :
WORLD SC SELECTION
The GB swimming team selected to compete in the World Short Course Championships in Moscow in April, are: Mark Foster, James Hickman, Zoe Baker and Alison Sheppard.

Typical British swimming.org - hiding such an announcement away in teh bottom corner of the home page! :rolleyes:

I'm also surprised at the small size of the team; the trials may have been cancelled for whatever reason, but one would have thought that Bill might have used the competition to give some younger swimmers valuable international experience if he wasn't intending to send a full strength squad :idea:

Frankly I think it's shocking to send just four swimmers to a World Championships!

The closeness of the Commy Trials to the World SC (week after) is obviously a major factor.

It's a good point, but I seem to recall the team competing at Nationals the week before (?) the Europeans in December 2000. In some ways it's better because you can taper and rest for two big meets without disturbing your programme, no?
