Meets in and Around Bristol ..

Hi , Dropped eldest off with her belongings at UWE Bristol Uni this weekend , whilst there ( dont know Bristol area at all) , we went for a scout round to look for local pools to the Frenchey Campus... Found a really nice leisure centre Horfield Leisure Centre , with a super pool , anyone out there know if there are any Open meets held there ? Seeking to combine a visit to see my eldest and a swim for youngest at any Open meets in the area.... Looks like a new leisure centre / pool and facilities look brill, travel and accom easy to find locally for swimmers etc. Loads of travel lodges/ premier lodges etc.. in the vicinity . I can kill two birds with one stone then .... also looking at Uni of Bath meets , but cant find any info...
Any ideas anyone ?

Gloucester county do their county blocks there some weekends. Bath open meet is 1st weekend of December (same as stafford apex!). If you would like a contact for the meet then PM me.

I am presuming that Bath meet is long course ... oh yes its same weekend as Stafford Apex , but we might consider Bath as an alternative meet.
Could you send a link for entry forms/ meet info .It is Age Groupers meet is it?
and do you know where the nearest travel Lodge / Holiday Inn express might be to Bath Uni?

Try the uni. I've stayed there for a few days. Also, there are some good B&Bs in the country side around Bath.

I have asked a friend of mine about the Bath meet and have got a few numbers to call, but no info on what is going on. They don't even know if it on!

Team Bath Grand Prix & Age Group Meet is on from 1st to 3rd December. Level 1 Meet, information is now available from them.

Hi Emosmum ~ Millfield is about 45 mins away from Bristol and some of the Somerset clubs hold their open meets there. You will probably be able to find a list on the ASA list of Licensed Meets (sorry don't have time at the mo to find the link).

Hi Emosmum;

Bristol Henleaze Swimming Club have regular sessions at Horfield LS on Tuesdays and Friday nights from about 7pm; there is a masters session on tuesdays at 8 ish.
