Hi , as there doesnt appear to be any threads under West Midlands Region....or the old ones have disappeared somewhere.......
When will the Midlands Age Groups and Yth qualifying times be available for 2007 ...? anyone have anymore info , or will they be the same as the East Mids qualifying times (as the regional Champs are jointly held..........)
Thought the qualifying times are from 1st October . Have we been caught in a time warp?...
Cheers Emsmum

It's a new forum for the West Midlands region that's why there are no threads :)

And either me (or someone else) needs to grab the relevant posts from the former Midlands forum (now East Midlands Region) and sort the posts between the two new forums!

Ahhhh , just ask Megan and Richard who that ex committee member from Newcastle is , whos daughter now swims for Leek ASC ( Emo ) ... you'll see us at the North Mids no doubt... and the Counties , look out for our Leek swimmers, there's not many of them , granted ,but they are usually in the medals!.... Quality not quantity ...thats our motto..
My eldest daughter also used to Asst teach the littleuns at Newcastle until she went to Uni recently.... have you guessed ? ....Shhhhhhhh though ..... I like the anonymity on here !...
Cheers Emosmum...

It's okay, it only took me about three minutes to work it out all by myself. A belated (very) well done for the Cosacss meet back in May! :thumb:
Quality not quantity is certainly a motto that would be applicable for a small club like Newcastle too. We retained our Premier League status in the Speedo League last week and that's some achievement when you're swimming 13, 14 and 15 year-olds in 'Open' events.

Thanks and well done in the Speedo last weekend .
Spoke to my eldest, who's at Uni today , she knew who you were straight away!... says your son is really good... and she sends her regards.
We will no doubt see you at Stafford Apex meet , I will look out for his swims.

I'm pretty sure that happened to us one year - he went straight from 12 to 14, and was 14 again the following year as the dates had moved ever so slightly! :aarrgghh:

The Midlands aint fair, I will have to swim as a 14 on the day when im only 13 on the day I swim. Why is it that its age as at June when the Youths are in May?............................ anybody know?.................
swimbar

Because if you make the age at day for the Youths the date in May and the age at day for the BAGCATS the date in June, those poor 15 year old Boys and 14 year old Girls who have their birthday in between the two dates will be too young for the Youths in May and when the BAGCATS arrive in June will be too old so they wont get a swim at all!! So the Youths has to be age at the end of the BAGCATS, so everybody gets a swim.

If Emo swam at North west Counties she would go to Regions as a 14 not a 15 ( her Birthday 15th June! ) ..... Why oh why dont all the Regions swim age as at the same dates??? ... ie Nationals age on day is the same for all .Notwithstanding the Age Groups are actually being held a weekend later than other regions fair enough , but why isnt the age on day date the same for all....
Will see you at Mids Youths then fellow Staffs swimmer.... have you got some qt's Emo has a lot less swims than she would have had if she swam at North Wests ( and their qual times are easier there too!..) Grrr

Hi
Just a second off a couple but hoping to get them in the next couple of weeks. If I lived in Yorkshire I would have 5 times already. The North East times are really easy to get, with the same time for 14-17 year olds.
Why arent all regional qualifying times the same? Anybody?..............

Ive heard some swimmers doing dual club , to perhaps get themselves in other regional champs..... where the times are easier to get....
Can anyone tell me why the age is 14/15 split age , but there are a separate qual times ?........... Why dont they have just one qual time ...

If you are from Birmingham then I'm the only one who will understand you. Now there's a thought to send you into rapid decline.
(You are having a new coach soon!)

Oi Dabid! Watch what you are saying here!
It's a really fast pool. Many swimmers do PBs at this pool. I was standing on poolside when Nick Gillingham set a new world 200m breaststroke record of 2:07.93. Not many on this forum can do this time on front crawl.
And the spelling is Stechford, not Stetchford.
