Aldershot Garrison Pool, Aldershot, Hampshire
There is a 50m pool that is available to train in with backstroke flags and blocks and antiwave lane ropes. There are maybe 9 swimmers in that pool 9-10pm weekday evenings and Sat 12.30-6pm and Sunday 12.30-3.30. It is so empty and quiet. There are a few regular Masters and triathaletes that visit and we more often than not get together on a set. It is sometimes lonely for me down there!
It cost £2 to become an 'Associate Member' for the year and then £2 per swim. There is a new gym too which is open from 7pm I think (you won't see me in there!!!).
Maybe you are heading off to New Zealand next month??? Get some long course training in before you go!
