Blimey, it’s all going on at one West Midlands club. My Loughborough mole has verbal diarrhoea this morning!

Heard before the panel of 3 ASA adjudicators, last week...

13 and 14 year olds who teach younger children to swim (beginners session) have been sacked! “We can sack them because they are self-employed”.

Someone whose name often appears as a signatory on the club’s cheque book had died several years earlier!

Club members claimed they hadn’t seen the club’s accounts for several years and no minutes had been made available either.

Claims that registration fees collected had not been forwarded to the ASA were put down to incompetence at Loughborough.

Money bequeathed to the club could not be accounted for.

And a lot more too....

The outcome from the panel: “No decision can be given today. We will go away and seek legal advice. We will let you know in a week’s time of the time-scale needed to sort out this mess.”

Maybe you know more?
NO NAMING OF CLUB OR INDIVIDUALS PLEASE

The outcome...

ASA finally agreed that there had been mismanagement and financial irregularities.

The main players on the Committee have resigned en bloc -amongst accusations of asset stripping the club - they have taken with them the lucrative teaching lessons together with the masters section.

The forthcoming age group gala will now be run under the name of the masters section.

Committee, teaching lessons and masters to join forces with the ‘club up the road’.

All good fun!

Are Masters deemed to be worth stripping of their assets?

Please, not in public, or at least not with the lights on! What a sight, all those unclothed wrinkles would put the best of Sharpeis to shame!

And a reminder Ms Locket to make sure that, unless the matters you allege are proved beyond doubt, the club in question and any individuals involved in it should NOT be identifiable from your posts even if you do not mention names, at the risk of the entire thread being removed and swimclub facing legal repercussions. I know you will try your best to be careful, so this is just a reminder to check and double-check before you press Submit Reply. Ta.

Thanks for the reminder GF. I thought carefully about every word before posting. Every point made can be verified. I've received phone calls from parents and committee members and also from a Loughborough friend.
