Just read about the English qualification - it's all or nothing at the Trials. I guess this was already widely known but I hadn't given it much thought.
Radical I guess, but seems to follow the approach used by successful nations - US seem to use this system for all sports and I guess the Aussies do the same?
It's alright by me Bill! It piles on the pressure but aren't we now demanding swimmers who can/will cope with the pressures of the major events. It's something new to toughen up our swimmers to compete against the best - harsh but necessary.
(God help anyone ill or who suffers from the 1-start rule).
