Some time ago Leppie suggested it would be a good idea if we had some sort of a database for listing forthcoming open-water events (including triathlon). So I propose to start one.

I'd like to add a further one covering winter bathing clubs and open-water swimming clubs in general.

I'm going to have to ask The Boss how to go about this, but in the meantime please email me- PeteRoberts007 AT aol.com -with anything you think ought to be included. Saves using up my PM allowance.

what an excellent idea. I have searched the web many times to find open water swimming events, clubs etc in the east yorkshire area without any success.:)

For Triathlon look no further than the BTA website that has an excellent online system

Likewise I'm happy to add an open water category to the pullbuoy listings at http://www.pullbuoy.co.uk/meets if that helps.

Thanks Steve

That would be great. Please lift anything from my list, and I'll be pleased to cross-post any from your listing.

Meanwhile I've started the "Clubs and Organisations" database. This is locked to prevent any of our resident pranksters from....er...playing. I'll add more to the listing as I receive/discover them.

The open water website for The Netherlands has the possibilities to list all events.
http://www.noww.nl is the adress. NOWW is aspiring to branch out over Europe. Many articles are in the native langauge (Dutch) but much is in English.
Let me know!

Alas i shall not be able to join you in the Solent on new year's day as I have a prior engagement running in a 10 K race at Box Hill-you can find details of this event at http://www.trionium.com/knackercracker/. There are still a few places if you want to join in. Naturally I shall be wearng my academic finery.
