Ian thorpe made teh backstorke semis at theri trials in 8th placed - how slow were these times though? 16th place swam 1:00.16 :eek: I suspect that they'll go a bit faster tonight....

Semi results above. Thorpe looking good? They did go faster, but not massively, and 59.9 came 14th. What was Swimbabe saying about depth....?:D

Just come back from tonights session. Bazzaroodoo's already pointed out Thorpe made the 100Bk final, but what impressed us was this came about 5mins after he won gold in the 100f/c!! (He literally walked back from this presentation straight to behind the blocks!!)
Leisel Jones qualified fastest (1.07.99) by nearly 2 1/2 seconds in the 100Br which was a stand out swim too.

Aussiebabe: Give Sean my regards for tomorrow. I'm sure he'll have no problems dealing with those big names he's lining up against :rolleyes:
Brette Hawke looks like the real challenger for his title!!!!

Well he made the team, but World champion Matt Welsh came out on top. Times were just a bit quicker than heats and semis!

And more importantly ..... my mate Sean was 44th in the heats of the 50 free - 24.64 :D

i hope ian goes well in the backstroke and i also hope he's worked on his starts.
