Got the sack from Godalming tonight. Totally out of the blue. So if you want a job with a small club you can apply as long as you don't want to be too successful.:idea: Got any jobs around Guildford for a coach?:confused:

Not good to hear of fellow colleagues getting the sack, especially (as you seem to suggest) if it wasn't warranted - on the whim of a typical club committee was it?

Regretably not on the whim of a committee. The decision, while not taken lightly, was in the best interests of the long term good of the Club. Pete's enthusiasm and commitment to the sport of swimming has never been an issue, but the decision should be a private matter between Pete and the Club. We wish him well for the future.

Sorry to hear that Pete. Does seem a bit out of the blue, seeing as you brought a team down less than two weeks ago. Anyway I'm sure you'll bounce back!;)

No doubt this is a political thing between Pete and the club, and although I also wish Pete all the best I will close this thread to avoid the risk of the discussion degenerating into something else.
