I have to attend a conference in Munich on Wednesday and Thursday this week and, unlike previous eras, would feel very guilty if I didnt get some swims in to keep up the metres.

I think I am in the centre of Munich so does anyone know of any decent pools in there?

I have googled Munich pools and found a very old one that offers 29/30 degrees and another one that offers a fairly good looking pool, more reasonable temperatures but also a relxation area including nudist corner and a several men only evenings....

Is that the best I can do over there!! I may just have to usual post-conference eating and drinking....

If you want an experience Leppy, forget the nude swimming sessions and get yourself along to the Olympic pool. Several clubs use the facility and you will be made very welcome. They enjoy having guest swimmers with them.

You'll get the chance to swim in lane 4, as used by Mark Spitz when he won his seven golds at the 1972 Olympics. You'll feel so good afterwards that you'll drop your Irish accent and speak like a Yank!

The person you need to contact at the centre is Julia Finsterbusch.

Well I got there in the end despite a fairly hectic conference schedule (just skived off the last session) and managed 45 min in the pool before dashing for the plane.

Maybe its old, but it still is an amazingly big open spacious arena. And yes I did go in lane 4 (I assume Spitz did win most of his medals from lane 4).

No need at all for the nude sessions elsewhere!!

Horrendous queue at passport control last night in Heathrow - I though for a moment they were looking to (re)deport Guildford residents!

A great pool and even in public sessions has a number of lanes up. They said that they were for club swimmers only but no one was using them anyway. Not sure but when I swam in lane 4 I seemed to go faster!!
