Hi Irish
Hope this helps. It has details of accommodation although most are full but it's worth a try.

Apparently british swimming are organising packages for families of those competing. Something's meant to be sent out with the letters but you know what they're like... don't hold your breath!

I am in the same boat does anyone know when the letters of selection wil be sent out. I have looked at the EJC site but cant find pool location and distances from hotels. I assume its best to fly into Brussels, antwerp flights
are from london city airport?

Presumably after the selections are approved (or otherwise) at the next GB Technical Swimming Committee.
I'm sure when it comes round that it will be a very good meet (as usual) but I have to say that the Antwerp pool is not a particularly good one for a meet of this calibre.

The pool is on the edge of Antwerp, on the Brussels side, about 25 minutes by car from Brussels airport. If you drive, it's quite an easy 2 hour drive from Calais. The closest hotel is the Crowne Plaza, just a few minutes' walk, but any of the hotels on the EJ website are OK.
Antwerp is a very nice city to visit, but it's difficult to find eating places/shops near the pool. The complex itself is quite dated - definitely not the best of venues!

Is the Plaza hotel the same Crowne Plaza that the team are staying in which the team manager says cannot be used by parents or family of swimmers?
For anyone interested. e mail from team manager saying congratulations on your selection but still no letter informing of selection. Apparently the letter were left to the "new girl" in the office and "loads of mistakes" were made.
Inspires confidence NOT.
embittered rant over..............for now

There are loads of great deals on flights/eurostar/hotels out there on the internet. Hotels far closer than those specified in the Supporters Club details and much cheaper! Okay, most only include breakfast not full board. Does this mean that the supporters that make their own arrangements can't sit with the supporters club members or get a T-Shirt?

So what happens if the hotel is already booked by parents/family/friends? Do they really think they can dictate where people stay? :banghead:

Apparently not! The Plaza (Ramada) was formerly known as the Corinthia Hotel and is 100m from the pool (Google is a wonderful thing). From the blurb on the EJ website the Crowne Plaza is within walking distance of the pool.....

Yes Plaza and Corinthia one and the same. I'd say more than 100m from the pool, but certainly quite close. Crowne Plaza usually quicker to walk to because you don't have to wait for the lights to change to cross any main roads!
