Very impressive from Dara! There are plenty of athletes who have made 5 Olympics, but to do it over a range of 24 years would be incredible! Maybe a story like this will help keep more swimmers in the sport as they realise you aren't past it at 16!!

Though she's been training for far more than 16 weeks- kept up moderate workouts until the day her daughter was born, and set a masters world record at Stanford last August (25.98 for 50M free) three months after that.

Someone on Timed Finals reminded that in 1984, her Olympic Teammates included Mary Meagher, Tracy Caulkins, and Sippy Woodhead.
