End of the school year reports. Each subject teacher writes a report/statement about each pupil that they have taught that year.

u shoudl do what all my sports teachers do (sorry if this is waaaay too late!) and go so and so has made good progress this year but is yet to master the/needs to work on the BLEEEP (insert butterfly/tumbleturn or whatever here!!) It worked fine until they said how well my netball was coming on without seeming to realise that I hadn't done ANY sport at school for over four years... :D
First thing: build up a bank of comments.
Sort out who knows who so that their reports are worded differently.
Get the students to write down what they liked and improved upon.
Good luck!
I have finished my reports, had them checked by the head, 1st to be ready. Next years reports will be easier if you save this year's ans copy and paste and change names. Before anyone starts criticising; my reports were carefully thought about, use best fit and then individualised and took over 40 hours on top of normal teaching tasks.

Thanks for your input guys, I did finish the reports on time. We break up for the summer this Friday. Oh, the joys of teaching in a private school. Unfortunatly, we do have OFSTED next term. I am having to write out 100 lesson plans to cover all abilities. Perhaps a job in Tesco's would be easier.
Bazz/Mamamedley, I am organising 4 Coaching seminars next year in our area. Do you have any topic suggestions?:D

julia,
i need some CPD for my assistant teachers as soon as poss (someone told me i'm supposed to have 3 days a year - is that right?) so since i'm in your area also, could you let me know what you get organised (plus, i know quite a few others who are down on their CPD so i'd probably bring along a car full!). for my own part - i'd be interested in a seminar on coaching butterfly - right from beginner level (say age 10, swim other strokes but never done butterfly before) right up to squad coaching level. but really anything would do me good! thanks.

Hi Julia. I see this thread has changed tack somewhat and wonder if people interested in the coaching seminars may miss this. I don't know if you are able to change the title maybe.
Anyway I am also interested in the seminars and agree about fly. I would find something about developing young swimmers particularly re the multistroke approach useful.
Pls keep us posted!

Julia,
I would like a seminar of a TOP British swimmer and their coach and would like to know all the details of what trianing/preparation they are doing. I am naturally a nosey person and even though the article of Robin Francis (Medley Man) was good I felt there needed to be more technical information. I once read an fantastic article in Swimming Technique on Tom Dolan - it even had a long list of stroke correction tasks he concentrates on!!! I understand that articles in Swimming cannot be too technical but maybe there would be more call for this in a seminar.
I would also be interested in how some Top Age Group clubs are setting up their system of work and how they prepare for BAGCATS etc.
I am not coaching anymore but would still attend this sort of seminar! Hope this helps and thannk you for asking us!!!

Perhaps you should attend the BSCTA Annual Conference in Januray each year or some of the regional BSCTA seminars that run. The last one BSCTA Scotland ran would have met your needs exactly. It was advertised on this site but I don't recall you making the trip north?

Typical response from someone not as keen as they claim to be.

Ok you 2, stop it!. The reason we do not travel to Scotland is basically that it is so far away and most of us only have Sundays off.
Chris, how do you change the title of this topic?
I have yet to see any BSCTA seminars organised in the south, opps sorry, yes there was one at Crystal Palace. Not well advertised though.
Thanks for the suggestions. I am now on the case. Does anyone have Jamie Hickmans e.mail address? I did have it but now have mislaid it. Send it by private message please.:rainbow:
This is his website.
