Call our performance against Nigeria whatever you want but we are through to the next round (something which Scotland have never achieved in any tournament), and that is a lot more than we can say for pre-tournament favourites Argentina and France.

Bring on the Danes!

Back to the football then. A fantastic performance by our boys against Denmark I understand (I say understand as I was stuck on the poolside at a competition during the match!!! I know what you're thinking ...... dedicated aren't I :D )

I have to say this though ..... and close your eyes if you don't want to see it ..... I think we'll be beaten by Brazil

With the 2-0 win over Mexico, the US did the unthinkable and qualified for the World Cup Quaterfinals for the first time since 1930. This is momentus, because well, we kind of lack in the soccer department. Now we take on the Germans, where I think that you guys have a better chance of defeating the Brazilians than we the Germans, but you never know. USA! USA! USA! USA!

Well done USA.

You seem to have the sign over the Mexicans. Considering that they were ranked in the world top 10, USA have won 5 out of their last 6 meetings.

Here's to the next round, let's hope Germany and Brazil think that all they have to do is turn up on the day.

With France & Argentina knocked out, yes, I would be inclined to agree. The Britain v. Brazil match is by far the toughest of the lot.

England, not Britain, please, Swimusa. The Brazil v England game is being billed as what should have been the World Cup Final. A great accolade indeed.

maybe the England v. Brazil match would be a World Cup semi final, I don't think final.

I love Brazil and think there are a great team, but not when they are playing England. I was gutted! :(

I think we can be really proud of what English football has achieved in this world cup. Suddenly the rest of the world has sat up and noticed us again. Oh yes, and Please don't blame David Seaman totally for the second goal. It was a freak goal, I think.

Totally agree with Bobby - we shouldn't be down on the team; they were just beatne by the better side on the day - I mean we only had one clear chance in the game and took it, just didn't create anything else. As for the second Brazil goal, a piece of outrageous skill or luck depending on how you look at it

You're not an Arsenal supporter by any chance are you bobby? :D

Definitely not, Chris, although I do support them in Europe. I just think Seaman should not be the scapegoat, nor anybody else for that matter. The whole team did us proud.

the usa vs. germany match this morning was awesome!! i was sad that germany won 1-0, but the usa fought really hard!!! that was the best team in 72 years for the us, and in my eyes, that team is still a winner!

they were lucky to be there, and had no way of beating the Germans. Mexico, while a supposed upset, is no Germany in the world of football.
