South Ayrshire Performance Development Coach
Circa. £20 – £25K p/a (qualification-dependent)
Fixed Term – 3 years

South Ayrshire Swim Team Management Committee is seeking to appoint a Swimming Coach to take the leading role in performance development swimming within the South Ayrshire region.

This exciting position is the result of an innovative partnership between South Ayrshire Council, South Ayrshire Swim Team and Scottish Swimming.

The successful applicant will primarily be responsible for the coordination and implementation of a performance development training programme for swimmers of the South Ayrshire Swim Team. The coach will be working with an enthusiastic and committed local swim club with strong links to South Ayrshire Council; this will enable a fully integrated swimmer pathway to be developed.

Applicants should hold a recognised swimming coaching qualification equivalent to at least ASA Level 3 (Club Coach), or be willing to fast track to achieve this level.




The South Ayrshire area has produced a number of swimmers achieving success at District and National Age Group level over the years, and this new post provides the successful applicant the opportunity to take the swimming programme forward to a higher level of performance and to be involved in the progressive program of swimming in . Only 30 miles from Glasgow , Venue of 2014 Commonwealth Games, this post should prove attractive for coaches with ambition.

The post will be contracted to the South Ayrshire Swim Team and be on a self-employed basis.

Reckon it will be a great opportunity for someone keen and driven enough to want to make an impact in the exciting swim scene here in Scotland.

(Speaking from my limited experience of such things obviously).

I am sure there will be a number of these opportunities arising in 2008.

I thought it was The Bahamas? Do they want him in Hawaii now, as well? :zip: Impressive!
