Bit confused, last year East & West Mids had seperate one's, looks like East Mids swimmers there today. Not that that is a problem after all the Regional Championships are combined so makes sense.

But why were there swimmers from Cambridge, Oxford & Wigan there, special dispensation or a move to having open events ?

Probably because the meet was open to anybody who decided to enter. Nowhere does it say on the entry form that you have to be from a West Midlands club.

Apologies Swimbar had a look and forgot to acknowledge.

Good idea to have them Open,we couldn't make this one and wished I'd looked around some of the other Region's, there again not sure my son's convinced about distance anyway although trying to get him to keep his options open.

Daughter got accepted to do a swim in these trials, even though she is from SER. The people at West Mids Region couldn't have been more helpful. :) (Swimming folk generally are). She didn't actually get to swim as she was selected to row at an important event on the same day.

Champinprogress....it's always worth enquiring....I emailed those at West Mids Region to ask if it would be possible to swim, as we could combine it with a visit to older daughter at a Midlands Uni. They were brilliant. Just felt a bit guilty that rowing took precedence. Hope I've not 'blotted my copybook'!
